While i do agree that art can be almost anything you want it to be. so long as it expresses an emotion or an idea. it has to take some form of effort on the part of the artist. when Dan flipped that chord cover in class where was the real effort he took and what idea or emotion was he expressing? you cant just splatter paint and say ART! you have to have something behind it. an idea or an emotion has to be present and has to be expressed either through the art itself or through your explanation of said art.
Here are some photos of the "art" i was talking about in Costa Rica (not Honduras i was mistaken) The artist has said in defense of this exhibit that these street dogs are often very sick and would soon die on the street from malnutrition. i would say to them how can you know that if you tie them to a post. the most disturbing thing is some of the pictures show people looking on sipping wine and watching as if they were looking at a wonderful masterpiece. it makes me sick there is no creativity behind this and takes no effort on the part of the artist. tying a knot is no art or expression

poor baby !!!!!!!!!!!!!! the dog looks so sad!!!!!!!!!!! i totaly signed that petition i think what he is doing is art but it is the worst art ever and it should never be done again but it is art if he calls it art but it is bad art that shouldnt be done
i agree with dan while this may be expression he is doing it in the worst possible way. if he wants to express the plight of these street dogs he needs take photo's film, anything but tie the dog to a wall and force him to die a slow agonizing death. Expression at the expense of another life is absolutely deplorable.
this is gross.
i think its art.. but its also animal abuse.
