Hey guys

To all whom it may concern,
Yes the rumors are true: I Jeff Terrian, am joining the Army next week after Bridge. I have beet my fist up against this brick wall and still the brick wall stand tall and strong unaltered. Sure, the fastest way to the other side is straight... but I have to be able to get through this brick wall.
To go into further detail, I will be working as a copy editor in the Army while taking core classes and having hands on journalism training. Also I will be given the chance to learn Arabic. This will set me back 2 years longer than I thought when it comes to earning my degree. I will also have credit and a GI Bill once I leave the Army in 5 years from now.
I will also have my core credits, picked up another language, and work experience hopefully in other countries. Which may not help in the careers you guys will pursue but is a great advantage when it comes to print journalism.
I was inspired by Kyles paper as I read it tonight. He said that he wants make people look at his art and get pissed off and say "I have to do something about this." Instead of being a couch idealist.
That is exactly why I want to be a journalist. I never talk about certain details I've seen in Romania because you just don't talk about some stuff. The parts I don't talk about are the parts I want to change. I want to stop child warfare in Africa, and rape by government officials in Asia, and even the problems with our own evil fucking government.
You guys continue with what you pursue, you fucking proved that you can do well in college. Don't you worry about me. I will be just fine and you will hear from me again; even if it has to be with a bag over my head with guns aimed all over.
I have a voice and it's a waste of God's time if I don't use it. Use your artistic abilities to your absolute fullest! Anything less and you are a waste of space and time. Never be afraid to be criticized and never take it to heart. This city is your campus, and I have learned that maybe it's time for me to make the world my campus.
I turn 21 in less than a month and as Kyle said, the last 20 years of my life were just the introduction.

As far as hearing and passing the physical goes? I found a way to get a waiver to pass me because I won't be combat orriented. My hearing will not risk another person's life. Also, since I will be working in an office environment, I can wear hearing aids on the job. It works better that way.

struggling weekend and paper

this weekend was crazy. i tried to do my paper thursday night because i wanted to go out with my boyfriend this weekend. while i was doing paper i ran out of thoughts to put in paper so i only did 3 in half pages. so attempted to finish on friday at my boyfriends house but i kept getting distracted. on saturday i started to finish, but i had to go to a friend trunk party and i got really sick. i had sea food and i can't really eat sea food. on sunday i went to church and did a little more. but when got out of church my boyfriend wanted to spend a little more time with me. but i was still a little sick so i really didn't finish my paper but i tried.

Ok so the first time I took the Assessment, I got a poor 42 on the test and took it again today and got a 96. How long does it take before it shows up on my Oasis? I need that grade to register for my last class.

Oh and Iwant to take it again to try for 1 more point... but I can't. Too bad. I could have skipped rhetoric writing all together and went straight to 2 which would have been great because I could have taken reporting 1 in the first semester rather than the second. I know exactly what part screw up my perfect score too. 2 sentences that were together and confused the crap out of me so I said screw it and guessed.

This weekend

I think I'm gunna head out to the burbs. I have some friends that I met the last time I was in Chi-town. It's nice and quiet in their town. I love the city, don't get me wrong. But every once in a while, I just like to escape and relax on hamocks.
Oh yeah, so journalism majors have to read this book and write an essay and its due Aug 29. The only problem is the book is HUGE. Well, it's about the american food and eating disorders and 400 pages of it.
I'll see what I can do about that. I need to retake my assessment. Maybe joe just had a really crappy advisor because mine told me to sign up for 16 classes and showed me how. Then noticed I did bad on the writing essessment exam and she told me to go back and retake it because taking introduction to college writing is a waste of time and money.
I'm starting to like her already.

Which the Dark Knight hitting the $400 million spot on just the third weekend, will it be able to sink the Titanic's $600 million placement by the time it leaves theaters? Right now Dark Knight has smashed every record it has come up against.

my father

He has a similar childhood story as Chuck Palahniuk. His step father tried to kill his three brothers and his mother. His step father chased them all into the woods with a knife. Then he lit the house on fire and drove off.
He was found by police dead for weeks after putting a tube from the exhaust pipe to the back window and speeding into the woods until he hit a tree.
Maybe it's a common story to tell of people growing up at that time.

When we got there it was nice it reminded me of the new Dwight Lofts. It was fun, me and bry bry were dancing all night [lol]..But yea minus the fact that we had to walk there it was cool BUT WE TOOK A TAXI BACK!

I HATE MY PAPER!!

I absolutely hate my paper. I want to soak it in kerosene and burn it, then piss on the ashes. But it was 330 am when I finished it and I have nothing better. I interviewed my dad and being that he is very introverted, trying to get detailed answers out of him is the equivalent of giving myself a colonoscopy. I hate writing other peoples story I prefer expressing my own ideas and thoughts. though it may sound selfish I believe its your story you can probably tell it better than me.

Stranger than Snuff

So I looked up anything the author of Stranger than Fiction has done since the book. He did a new book that throws Testy Festy off the map. The story is based off a true story about a asian porn star who had the biggest reported gang bang.

She wanted 200 guys but only 70 came to fuck her 3 times each in only a few short hours. Naturally Chuck had to write about this event.

oh yes and my interview... I didn't do so well. The whole weekend I spent trying to think of a creative interview. I didn't want the same questions and answers. But I've been drifting off topic lately. Where the assignment would be about reading and writing and I'd talk about how much I dislike fiction. So I had to somewhat stay on topic. I ended up doing the same bland interview and drove me nuts.

I thought this part of Stranger than Fiction was interesting. The mythical rule that fine arts degree is code for flipping hamburgers has steered many away from any artistic degree. Here Chuck is, with a degree in journalism, he is working in a truck assembly line. 5 dollars an hour after years of work in college.
But I think that is why we must take risks. If you are doing exactly what the other actors, fashion designers, and photographers are doing then no one will notice you. We must be the rainbow in this black and white world.
I think he didn't leave the truck assembly line until his book Fight Club became a movie. So in that, if it's your desire, then be willing to step far outside the box and work your absolute hardest.
Yes, I did finish the book, when I closed it was the first time the cover of the book actually made sense. It wasn't just a picture anymore, it had meaning.
